Babylonia is a flashcard-type program that can be used to study words in a foreign language.
You enter the words in your course book, set a couple of them for a test and you can start. There are several options for setting words for a test. In a test the words you have set are asked in random order.
There are two kinds of tests: exercises and exams. In an exercise a word is asked until you reach a certain goal score. The scores are preserved when you abort an exercise. In an exam a certain number of words is asked and in the end you get a mark. For each word in your wordlist you can also enter a lesson, a context, and you can record the pronunciation. If you have recorded the pronunciation, Babylonia can also take a listen test or a dictation. It`s possible to create wordlists for languages with different scripts, provided that support is available in the system. The help file contains information on using different scripts.
A short Dutch wordlist with pronunciations is included as an example. |
